Almost seven years after the implementation of the General Health System (GHS), the healthcare sector has undergone significant structural changes and major investment, ushering in a new era of universal access for all citizens. Recognised as one of the most important social reforms in the country, the GHS continues to evolve, presenting both notable achievements and persistent challenges.

Against this backdrop, the Health Conference 2026 brings together the full spectrum of healthcare stakeholders to evaluate the system’s progress, address critical challenged, and explore practical opportunities to strengthen its long-term sustainability and effectiveness.

OEB is represented on the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Organization (HIO) and brings together the most representative health-related professional associations in Cyprus—covering the full spectrum of the healthcare ecosystem, including public and private hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, medical professionals, pharmacies, medical equipment suppliers, clinical laboratories, ddiagnostic image centers, private insurance and other key stakeholders within and beyond the GHS.
